Objectives :
Kendriya
Vidyalaya Scheme
1. Kendriya Vidyalayas all over the country have been started by the
Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, for the benefit of the
children of defence personnel, other Central Government employees and state
Govt. employees liable to transfer.
2. Such schools are established at places having sizable concentration of
Central Government employees including defence personnel.
3. The school prepares pupils for All India Secondary School& Senior
Secondary School Examinations, of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New
Delhi
4. The schools are intended to be partly residential in character having
some good features of public schools, without raising the cost of education.
5. The schools are run and administered by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan,
an autonomous body.
6. The quality of teaching is kept reasonably high by an appropriate
teacher pupil ratio and provision of a suitable proportion of teachers with
high qualifications.
7. Kendriya Vidyalayas are expected to develop into quality schools with
a national character.
8. The school aims at having not only uniform but also well-prepared
syllabus and good textbooks. They are intended to be equipped with good
libraries, good laboratories and they also organise a variety of useful
co-curricular activities.
